The World! Stop Time! is the second level of World 4. An underground level centered around freezing time.
Level Overview[]
Begin the stage by activating the P-Switch near you. The time counter and the enemies will freeze completely. Taking note of this, proceed right, collecting the power-up and hitting another P-Switch.
You'll soon come to a P-Switch next to a pipe. Hit it and cross the pit by jumping on the Koopas. Proceed further right, dodging the enemies. Hit the P-Switch next to the midpoint and go in the pipe.
Hit the P-Switch right after and get on the number platform. Wait for time to flow again to use it. Follow the set path, hitting any P-Switches along the way. In the end, hit the P-Switch to turn the floating coins into blocks and to freeze the Bullet Bills. You're right next to the goal.

Graphics[]
The foreground uses graphics from Crystal Snail's stage in Mega Man X2 and the background is from the ice stages in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.
Music[]
Horrible Shadow from Romancing SaGa plays during the entire level.
Trivia[]
- The stage's name references Dio Brando's stand from the third arc of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, The World, as well as its power: stopping time. The level name is an actual quote of Dio's, used in both the original manga and in Capcom's fighting game based on the third arc.
- It is also a popular meme amongst JoJo fans, being the main source of JoJo's popularity in the west prior to the 2012 anime adaptation, thanks to a rather popular Japanese flash animation from the early 2000s displaying the attacks of the stands Star Platinum, The World, Gold Experience, Sticky Fingers and Aerosmith, from both the third arc, Stardust Crusaders and the fifth arc, Vento Aureo.
