Lemmy the Hikikomori is the first castle level in Brutal Mario, belonging to Lemmy Koopa.

It has a secret exit to Blue Switch Palace.

Level overview[]

The level starts in a room with several Ninjis. In the next room with the spotlight gimmick and On-Off Switch, jump on top of the Prize Box to find a pipe that leads to the secret exit.

In the room after that you will find the Midway Point, a Red Door that goes to the Boss path, a Message Block explaining said door, and a door that allows you to continue on with the level, leading to a room filled with lava, nets and a screen border featuring Lemmy.

At the end of the lava corridor is a Prize Box with a Fire Flower inside and a door. Go in, then take the Boss Door to fight the Shy Guy and Lemmy.

The Orb[]

In the segment with the screen border, pay attention to the bottom of the screen and you will notice a pit with a blue coin in it. Jump in it and you will end up in an off-screen passageway.

Go right and you'll find a door. Jump on an offscreen block next to the ledge and enter the door. Within lies the Orb.

Take the door within the room to go to the Boss path.

Asset Sources[]

Graphics[]

For graphics, this stage uses the castle graphics from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and the rocky mountain background from Super Mario World.

The border in the pre-midboss segment uses artwork from the Super Mario World manual.

Music[]

The music used through this level is On With The Vanguard! Part 2 from Romancing SaGa 3.

When fighting the Shy Guy, Megalomania from Live-A-Live is used.

The music when fighting Lemmy Koopa is Seven Heroes Battle from Romancing SaGa 2.

The orb room uses The Poem for Everyone's Souls from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3.

Trivia[]

  • In demoOnly1, the music used in the stage is the Final Boss theme from For the Frog the Bell Tolls, and when fighting the Shy Guy, the music is Go! Go! Kids! from Treasure Hunter G. The orb room uses the Save Hut music from Kirby Super Star. This was most likely due to the fact that some ports were still being remade. Megalomania was soon re-added to the 1-1 Demo. On With The Vanguard and The Poem for Everyone's Souls seem to still be unfinished.
